Uganda, the Pearl of Africa, is rich in water resources. The rivers, lakes and wetlands cover about 18% of Uganda's total surface, including Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa and the source of the Nile River, the longest river in the world. All these provide a prime environment for water activities such as canoeing, boat cruises and kayaking across the Nile, Lake Victoria basin and several other numerous water bodies across the country.
Umbrella Beach, an ambitious tourism project now underway on the eastern coast of the UAE, appears set to put the Emirate of Fujairah on the international tourism map. Slated for completion later this year, the project’s first phase will include at least 15 storefronts, to be eventually followed by a range of upscale retail outlets, restaurants, and other tourist-friendly attractions.
