Colors: Purple Color

The clock struck 4 yesterday at the 37th Sharjah International Bookfair and the little workshop room tucked at the corner of the exhibition hall transformed in to a tiny art school. The session called “Against the Wall” is an interactive edutainment model geared towards enhancing children’s imagination, simultaneously teaching them to face life’s challenges and animosities in a positive way. Paolo Ghezzi who was organising this workshop handed out drawing sheets to children asking them to draw what they didn’t like in life.

With the onset of the winter vacation, young ones across the city will be enjoying a little extra free time this December. Ladybird Nursery is encouraging children to spend time broadening their horizons while they’re on holiday, by getting their little hands on books.

More than 100 Emirati families will be competing for AED 600,000 worth of prizes distributed among the four categories of the second annual edition of the Sharjah Sports Family Award (SSFA), to be announced in February 2019. The second edition, which carries the slogan ‘Behind Every Champion is a Legend’, has closed registrations after receiving a high number of applications from all seven emirates in the UAE,  which reflects growing national sporting talent as well as the popularity of the award.

Global safety science firm, UL, which has offices in Dubai and a state-of-the-art laboratory in Abu Dhabi, is advising people to take a number of safety precautions to prevent real or artificial Christmas trees from accidentally causing a fire.
