Dubai Collection today announces details of the first artworks to be accepted into the recently launched initiative, designed to build an institutional art collection for the Emirate of Dubai through a new and innovative partnership model. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Collection is a community-led and collaborative scheme that allows patrons to lend their works while retaining legal ownership, in addition to benefitting from expert advice to support the growth of both personal and public collections.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 4 July, launched a new national initiative, the Fakhr (pride) program, aimed at rehabilitating people with special needs, discovering and developing their sporting abilities, improving their quality of life, enhancing their community participation in sports activities, and making them sports champions at the local and international levels.

The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) is revealing two new films as part of its participation at the Saudi Pavilion, which is hosted by the Saudi Film Commission, at the 74th edition of the Festival de Cannes 2021. Celebrated Egyptian screenwriter and producer Mohamed Hefzy will introduce his Ithra-commissioned film Sea of Sands (working title) alongside the unveiling of Saudi award-winning independent filmmaker Khalid Fahad’s Valley Road. The move forms part of Ithra’s strategic commitment to nurture and develop talent across the Kingdom’s creative industries.

Leading regional and global industry experts today unpacked the future of IP networking for Middle East governments and enterprises at the Huawei Middle East IP Club Carnival 2021. At the annual regional flagship event, held at Atlantis, the Palm, Dubai and live broadcasted online, Huawei also launched a joint innovation program, aimed at creating a platform to work together with industry pioneers in different industries.
