Sharjah Children Biennial, the international cultural and artistic platform that celebrates children's creativity and imagination, honoured 14 children from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, UK, China and Ireland who, through their innovative and artistic mindsets won jury’s votes during the month-long event that concluded on March 20.

With more than 1,700 projects worth USD 1 trillion, China’s ambitious One Belt, One Road Initiative aims to positively impact 4.4 billion people, or 65 percent of the world’s population that equals to about 40 percent of the global gross domestic product (GDP). Spanning across to 70 countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, and Oceania, the One Belt, One Road Initiative has been allocated over $340bn in construction contracts secured by Chinese companies.

Arsenal Football Club today boarded a newly branded Emirates A380 with a livery featuring a montage of Arsenal first team players. The club is making their way to Dubai for a friendly match with Al Nasr Sports Club as well as the official inauguration of Al Maktoum Stadium, taking place on 26 March. During their stay in Dubai, the Arsenal players will also take part in warm weather training sessions, to prepare for final weeks of their football season. This is the first time in Emirates’ history that the whole Arsenal squad visits their Dubai home, and the airline will be supporting the visit by connecting fans in the UAE with one of the greatest football clubs in the world.

His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, signalled the start of the eighth edition of the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF 2019) in Sharjah today (Wednesday), saying that despite the nation’s recent achievements in applying best-in-class technology and processes to deliver policy and communicate with citizens, more efforts need to be exerted in training government employees and role models to emerge from within the leadership ranks.
