• Aster Volunteers and Max make Eid special for 100 underprivileged children

    With Eid holidays approaching, Aster Volunteers and Max in cooperation with the Human Appeal International (HAI) joined hands to conduct the third edition of ‘Smile’ programme and bring happiness and joy to 100 less fortunate children from different nations living in the UAE.  The programme echoes the sentiments put forth in the Year of Tolerance, reflecting UAE's Founding Father's principles encouraging peaceful co-existence, tolerance, cohesion and acceptance.

  • Aster Volunteers reaffirms continued support for people with determination with the launch of Al Amal 2.0

    Aster Volunteers, the global corporate social responsibility programme of Aster DM Healthcare, in collaboration with the Dubai Club for People of Determination and the Special Needs Development Centre, Dubai, recently held the Al Amal 2.0 (The Hope) initiative. The event marks Aster DM healthcare’s underlying global commitment and support towards the People of Determination in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is also in line with the government’s efforts to empower the People of Determination by urging an integrated community role. Currently, the organisation has 71 differently abled individuals employed at their units across India and GCC.

It has been named one of the Merit Awardees of the 2018 International Hospital Federation (IHF/Bionexo) Excellence Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The award was presented during the 42nd IHF World Hospital Congress in Brisbane, Australia.

  • Award for innovator of pioneering health and wellness eco-system

    The co-founder of Spotcheck, a technology driven health and wellness services provider, which offers an 8 minutes non-invasive health screening and a digital platform, has been awarded as one of the top 50 leaders in the healthcare sector in the region.     Endometriosis is a painful disease that affects millions of women worldwide and quite a few in the Middle East too. It is estimated that 1 in 10 women is affected by endometriosis during reproductive years and approximately 30–50% of women with endometriosis will experience infertility. It is a condition in which tissue that normally grows inside the endometrial cavity grows outside it and can lead to severe pain during menstrual periods and chronic pain in the lower back and pelvis, often disabling. But that’s not all. It leads to infertility in a majority of cases. While a large part of the affected women are living with this medical condition – they only wake up to it when facing challenges in conception. It is then, that couples turn to IVF or reproductive medicine for treatment.

  • Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation Donates AED500,000 to Dubai Health Authority

    By the end of the UAE’s Year of Giving,proclaimed by the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Endowment Development Department at Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) presented a cheque for AED500,000 to Dubai Health Authority. The donation was part of the Shifaa initiative that aims to support health facilities in providing treatment to patients with bad debts.
