• Ministry of Health and Prevention launches ‘Art for Health’ competition

    The Ministry of Health and Prevention recently launched the ‘Art for Health’ competition to raise awareness on lifestyle-related medical conditions and tap into young people’s creativity and innovativeness, to help address the growing health issues in the country. The competition seeks to help realize the objective of UAE Vision 2021 aimed at building a world-class health sector with robust preventive measures to reduce the cases of lifestyle-related diseases in the nation such as obesity, heart ailment, and diabetes.

  • Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award Presented for First Time in Region

    The Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award, a visionary annual award established in 1992 to recognise the work and contributions of modern day art patrons, has taken place in the region for the first time. Rajeeb and Nadia Samdani, recipients of the 2017 Award were honoured at a ceremony held in Dubai to recognise their work with Dhaka Art Summit and contribution to the arts through the Samdani Art Foundation. An initiative to increase awareness and appreciation of contemporary art across Bangladesh, and broaden international exposure for the country’s artists and architects, the Samdani Art Foundation is also responsible for the establishment of the Samdani Art Award.

  • More Than 200 Children Take Part in UAE-Wide SCB Workshops

    In preparation for its sixth edition, Sharjah Children Biennial (SCB) concluded 20 workshops nation-wide that enabled children between the ages of 6 and 18 to share and present their artistic and innovative invention ideas, inspired from real life and their imaginations.


    With only two days remaining until the now-sold-out Bovet 1822 Artists for Peace and Justice (APJ) ‘Brilliant is Beautiful’ gala, organisers have confirmed the star-studded evening’s entertainment and high-profile auction items, including a live painting by artist and philanthropist Sacha Jafri, finished  during the evening, with the assistance of event hosts Ben Stiller, Susan Sarandon, the Duchess of York, Madeleine Stowe and Caroline Stanbury, before auctioning the piece off to the gala’s guests.


    Warehouse421 has unveiled an exciting enhancement to its outdoor courtyard area. The exterior has been upgraded with the construction of a new earth wall, which incorporates elements of the natural landscapes associated with the Abu Dhabi creative hub’s coastal location.
