  • Celebrate Art, Feminine Wellness, and Improv Theatre this Ramadan

    Dubai Jiggy, a local community platform supporting creative’s in UAE, has partnered with NEST co-working space, yogi Aliya Galim, and Sayit.ae, to create an inspiring evening on the 29th of May. The three hour event will showcase the opening of the ‘Less is More’ Exhibition, an exhibition featuring 30 UAE based artists representing the themes of anti-consumerism, anti-waste, and anti-social media addiction, to go along with the spirit of Ramadan and the Year of Zayed. Hundreds of submissions were sent in by artists from all over the Middle East to take part in this exhibition, with many artists reaching out from Ukraine, Belarus, and Iraq, to take part in this uniquely inspired show.

  • Designers Announced for Tashkeel’s 2017/18 Tanween Programme

    Tashkeel has just announced the four artists selected for the 2017-18 edition of Tanween Design Programme: Alya Sultan AlEghfeli, Hala Al Ani, Myrtille Labrune-Ronteix and Renad Hussein. The four designers were chosen from a substantial number of applications, after a selection process that included the interview of shortlisted candidates. Members of the selection panel included Helen Voce, an established member of the creative community, Lateefa bint Maktoum, Founder and Director of Tashkeel, Jill Hoyle, Manager of Tashkeel, and members of the Tashkeelteam.

    The creative talents of budding young artists in the capital were on full display at a unique art exhibition hosted by The British School – Al Khubairat (BSAK) on Tuesday evening (22ndof May) that featured an impressive range of artworks from students across different art forms such as fine art, photography, and graphic design.   • Dubai Culture hosts award winning public art artist Karim Jabbari

    Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), in partnership with The Dubai Mall, is hosting Arabic Light Calligraphy workshop by award winning artist Karim Jabbari, in order to promote the art of Arabic calligraphy and spread its use among the community. During the workshop, the artist creates customised Arabic calligraphy light portraits for the participants. The workshop is being held until 18th May 2019 from 9 pm to 1 am, at The Dubai Mall, opposite Dubai Ice Rink on the ground floor.
